50 nuances d'été - week 10

Hello? Allo? Hey everybody, I'm still here!!! The bad news is that I wasn't able to keep up with my blog as our summer headed into its final weeks, but the good news is, I never stopped taking photos, and I still want to share some of them with you! Also, I hate leaving strings untied, and not finishing this summer photo project would have left me disappointed.

So, where did we leave off? In mid-August, our family took off to Whistler, British Columbia, for a two-week vacation. Our DH kid was competing in Crankworx, the world's largest mountain biking event, and we were all going to be there to cheer him on this year. The first few days were fairly quiet, so we were able to do some sightseeing, but once the events began, we were in full-on bike mode. This Alberta girl loved being out west again; I missed the relaxed vibe, the nice people and the fresh clean air. Here are four of my favorite images from our first few days. Notice the smoky, hazy skies in the first and last shots - sadly, there were forest fires raging not too far away.

50 nuances d'été is a group project that brings together a number of talented photographers from the beautiful province of Quebec. Please take a look at the wonderful work of Genevieve Guérin to follow the loop!
